Cooperative Branch Manager – Agronomy and Grain Location

CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a member cooperative to hire an Agricultural Branch Manager for a successful agronomy and grain facility near Wapakoneta, Ohio.
 
This position is designed as a senior-level management opportunity and will require past management experience as well as strong grain and agronomy knowledge. This is a large, modern facility with a successful existing sales and operations team.

Applicant Characteristics:

The CHS team is seeking an agricultural professional who continually strives to ‘raise the bar’ and exceed expectations. Customer service must drive each decision. In addition, this person must be results-oriented and have a solid, proven track record and industry reputation. The combination of customer service and team coaching will require the right mix of ability and character. Applicants are asked to highlight customer service experience as well as examples of professional results in addition to agronomy and grain experience.
 
Position Overview:

  • Supervise a large, successful, facility part of a multi-branch cooperative. 
  • Partner with other branch managers and the V.P. of Operations to ensure quality communications. Strong communication skills are essential (verbal and written).
  • Continually strive to improve efficiency, profitability and customer service.
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained and accurate including reporting, customer grain accounting, purchase orders, scale ticket entry, grain grading and monthly inventory reports.
  • Coaching employees for higher performance including recommending professional development opportunities.
  • Maintaining a safety-first culture ensuring OSHA requirements are fulfilled and staying compliant through safety training and setting expectations. This includes keeping the facilities clean and well maintained as well as certifying truck and rail scales are working and accurate.
  • Must have agronomy and grain knowledge and work with division managers in ensuring quality service. Also responsible for understanding the latest agricultural advancements and products available.
  • Some HR responsibilities will be required; including hiring, onboarding, training and termination with assistance from corporate HR duties. Proper reporting and recording performance issues and labor expenses.
