FSR Agronomy College Aims to Keep Agronomic Professionals Sharp

Sessions, speakers lined up to provide insight on current agronomic issues

From watching for insects and diseases, to carefully applying chemicals and curtailing runoff, to keeping up with ever-advancing technology, agronomists have a lot of reasons to stay sharp.

The Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA) and Ohio State University Extension are lining up experts to share the latest with agronomists, Certified Crop Advisers and custom applicators during the Farm Science Review Agronomy College, to be held Sept. 15 at the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio.

“We have arranged a solid lineup of sessions and topic experts that will provide the latest information to help agronomists and applicators better serve their customers,” said Harold Watters, CPAg, CCA and assistant professor in agricultural and natural resources at OSU.

The program, which will take place one week prior to the annual Farm Science Review, will also provide continuing education credits to help CCAs and custom applicators meet professional requirements, including three hours of pest management credit and two hours each of nutrient management and crop management credits.

Confirmed topics and speakers include:

  • Plant Pathology - “What a Year for Disease! Preparing for 2016”

    • Anne Dorrance, OSU professor of soybean pathology, host resistance
