MACA Announces 2017 Young Leader Scholarship Program

Applications for the Mid America CropLife Association (MACA) Board of Directors Young Leader Scholarship program are now open for Ohio students.

This is the fifth year for the program which is designed to expose future agriculturalists to the crop protection industry and future career opportunities. Recipients will benefit from the financial compensation, exposure and networking with MACA members.

Requirements for the applicants include:

  • Enrolled at The Ohio State University
  • Must be a sophomore or junior (60 hours completed by December 2016) with an educational focus on agriculture.
  • Must have secured a summer internship (2017) within agriculture, preferably within the crop protection industry. 
  • GPA – Must have a 3.0 minimum GPA while enrolled in college.
  • Supply a completed application, updated resume and unofficial transcript by noon, January 10, 2017 to Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA). (Submit via email as a Word or PDF document to macascholarship@gmail.com.) Click here to download the application.
  • MACA Annual Meeting – Scholarship recipient must be available to attend the MACA Annual Meeting September 5-7, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Travel and lodging expenses reimbursed by MACA.)
  • Presentations – Two presentations on campus to be completed once they have attended the MACA Annual Meeting and before January 1, 2018.   

After completing their summer internships the scholarship recipient will receive a $2,000 scholarship to assist with their tuition expenses. The decisions by MACA are final. Previous winners are not eligible. Winners will be notified in April 2017.
