Recap of GEAPS Seaway Chapter's Third Annual Bin Entry-Tech Rescue Training

OABA President and CEO Chris Henney is Submerged in Grain for Training

Twenty-seven firefighter and rescue personnel and 12 grain industry personnel took part in a comprehensigrain picture trainingve workshop on grain entrapment prevention and rescue from August 21-24 at the GEAPS Seaway Chapter's third annual Bin Entry-Tech Rescue training held at the new Grain Safety Training Center at Trupointe Cooperative, Inc.’s grain facility in Sidney, Ohio.

Ohio AgriBusiness Association (OABA) President and CEO Chris Henney was recruited by the GEAPS Seaway Chapter to assist in CH in grain the training. Chris was submerged chest-deep in a bin of grain to help emergency personnel provide a hands-on training to participants.

“This training was a great opportunity for both rescue and grain industry personnel to see firsthand why proper procedures are crucial for safety,” Chris said. “Being submerged in grain was a different experience, and I learned how important it really is to ensure that our rescue and grain personnel receive top-notch training.”
