AFIA: Regulatory Training Short Course Registration Open

Registration Deadline is Oct. 21

Registration is now open for the American Feed Industry Association’s the 2013 Regulatory Training Short Course, Nov. 20-21, in Arlington, Va. This year’s program will feature topics such as:

  • Food Safety Modernization Act—Rule Updates and What’s Next;
  • Structure/Function Claims—What do they Look Like;
  • Comparing Class I and Class II Health Hazard Evaluations;
  • FDA’s Guidance on Information for a Food Additive Petition;
  • GRAS Self-determination and State Acceptance; When to Engage a Food & Drug Law Firm; and
  • Preparing and Dealing with a FDA Inspection.

The programming is an opportunity for regulatory professionals in the feed, ingredient and pet food industries to come together to develop the necessary skills to lead their company through the regulatory maze. It was created for regulatory directors with several years of industry experience and will cover advanced topics and regulatory strategies.

This year, for an additional fee, AFIA will offer an Introduction to Feed Regulation in the U.S. seminar prior to the two-day event for attendees new to the regulatory area. The seminar has limited attendance to focus more on individual instruction and will be held on Nov. 19, at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel.
