Companies Needed for Ohio Export Internship Program

The Ohio Export Internship Program is looking for Ohio companies that want to export their goods or services. More than 30 students have been selected for this program, and now the Ohio Development Services Agency is looking for companies to put them to work.

“This program provides amazing opportunities,” said David Goodman, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency. “Not only does it provide students the skills they need to land a job, it also gives companies looking to expand into new markets a competitive edge.”

This internship program is a partnership with Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. The goal of the internship is to help Ohio companies focus on increasing their global exports, while training students in international business. The program also provides a 50 percent reimbursement for the wages of the intern.

In the first two years of the program, 28 student-company matches were created, resulting in more than $7.7 million in expected global sales and three full-time job offers.

The deadline for companies to apply is Jan. 15. The 2014 internship program runs from May 12 through Aug. 8. Companies can apply here.
