IPM Institute hosting free training Feb. 25-26 for CCAs

The IPM Institute is hosting a free training event for Certified Crop Advisors and Certified Professional Crop Consultants located in Western Lake Erie Basin to receive Technical Service Provider certification in nutrient management planning. The training is in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service and Ohio State University Extension with support from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

With TSP certification in nutrient management planning, growers and their advisors can take advantage of funding available through NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program. EQIP provides financial assistance to growers to hire qualified professionals to create and implement approved plans addressing the 4Rs: Right fertilizer source, at the Right rate, at the Right time and in the Right place.

Registrants will receive TSP certification training from an NRCS representative with the option to participate in additional training for nutrient management plan writing on Feb. 26, hosted by Greg LaBarge, educator with Ohio State University Extension.
