Collegiate Washington D.C. Leadership Experience

Is your son or daughter passionate about agriculture? Let them share that passion on Capitol Hill with lawmakers. The Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association is sponsoring a trip to the 2014 Corn Growers Congress and congressional visits the week of July 14. Up to 10 collegiate leaders will be selected for the trip. Applications are due April 1.

 

Qualifications:

1. Son or daughter of OCWGA Member

2. Sophomore, junior or senior year in college*

3. Strong interest in agriculture

* Any post-secondary institution, any major (both agriculture & non-agriculture considered), institution in any state

 

Selection:

1. Based upon application and references

2. Three short essays will serve as the weighted sections of the application and will be scored using a rubric developed by staff and OCWGA board.

3. Interviews may be conducted.

 

Expenses:

OCWGA will cover all expenses (travel, lodging, registration, meals)

 

Additional obligations:

Collegiate leaders selected for this program will have a half-day training prior to the experience and a half-day debriefing after the mission.
