OABA Welcomes Sarah Peterson as Student Intern

Sarah Peterson has joined the Ohio AgriBusiness Association staff as a student intern. Peterson is a senior at The Ohio State University and is majoring in agribusiness and applied economics with a minor in international studies. She will graduate in May 2015.

“We are pleased to have Sarah on board,” said Chris Henney, OABA president and CEO. “Her passion for agriculture and the experience she’s gained from her previous internships is a great addition to the OABA team.”

This past summer, Peterson interned with the United States Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry through Senator Thad Cochran’s (MS) office in Washington D.C. and worked on the implementation of the Farm Bill, the reauthorization of the Healthy Hungry Free Kids Act and the new dietary guidelines. Peterson has also interned with the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Bluegrass Farm of Ohio, LLC and The Ohio House of Representatives.

Peterson grew up in Washington Court House, Ohio and was active in both 4-H and FFA. Peterson has also been actively involved in student organizations on Ohio State’s campus and is currently serving as president of the Ohio State Agribusiness Club.
