OSU and Cleveland FBI Present Agroterrorism Workshop

The 2014 Workshop on Agricultural Terrorism: Threats, Impacts and Challenges will take place Sept. 24-25. The workshop is a joint collaboration between The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the FBI Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate. The event will be held at OSU’s Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC), Shisler Conference Center, 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster, OH 44691.

The two-day workshop will feature speakers with topics of interest for producers, food processors, members of academia, law enforcement, emergency management and public health. There will also be tours of OARDC’s feed mill and a behind-the-scenes look inside the Bio Safety Level 3 Agriculture (BSL-3a) research facility. The BSL-3a laboratory is set to go “hot” within the next year and once it does, all tours will be non-existent to the outside.

Registration for the workshop is free. Seating is limited and pre-registration is highly encouraged. Event meals are available for purchase at the time of pre-registration.
