Important Dates for Voting in Ohio

Voting is an important step in the democratic process, and as citizens, it is important to act on the right to vote. Voter registration is the first step voters must take in order to be eligible to participate in the election. To vote in Ohio’s Nov. 4 general election, voters must be registered by Oct. 6. To register, visit the Ohio Secretary of State website.

If a voter is unable to go to the precinct on Election Day, early voting and absentee voting are possible solutions. In Ohio, early voting begins Oct. 7 and runs through Nov. 4. There are two ways to vote early – by visiting the local Board of Elections or through an absentee ballot. To vote absentee, voters must apply with the local Board of Elections by Nov. 1. Absentee ballot applications can be obtained here.
