2015 4R Advocate Program and Nomination Form

Source: The Fertilizer Institute

While 4R messages from the fertilizer industry are well-received, engaging agricultural producers and sharing 4R success stories from the field play a critical role in adoption of 4R nutrient stewardship. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2015 4R Advocate Program, which recognizes growers applying 4R principles. This is the fourth year for the program.

The 4R Advocate program relies on fertilizer retailers nominating grower clients in recognition of their efforts to implement 4R principles. As you consider potential growers to nominate, we encourage you to review details about past 4R Advocates. Advocate videos and cropping system information are available at www.nutrientstewardship.com/4r-advocate.

The Fertilizer Institute considers retailer and grower participation in the nomination process part of the 4R outreach effort. The nomination process provides an opportunity to further share the benefits of 4R nutrient stewardship with retailers and is an opportunity to recognize growers applying the 4R principles.

In accordance with the program rules, the 2015 4R Advocate grower winners, a grower guest and the winning nominating retailers will receive an expense-paid trip to the 2015 Commodity Classic, held Feb. 26-28 in Phoenix. At the Classic, 4R Advocate winners will see the latest agricultural innovations first-hand, meet other growers and agricultural leaders from across the nation, and will be honored at an invitation-only banquet.

Retail entities can nominate multiple growers; however, we suggest multi-outlet entities use an internal vetting process to select the best nominations for submission. The nomination form and program rules are available here. Additional details on 4R nutrient stewardship can be found on the 4R website.

Nominations will be accepted through Nov. 10 and should be submitted to Peyton Harper via email at pharper@tfi.org. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges, and winners will be announced in mid-December. For comments or questions, contact Peyton at 202-515-2717 or pharper@tfi.org.
