How Arizona Prosecutors refused to accept innocent explanations in the infamous 1970 Pioneer Hotel “Arson” and the 42 Year injustice that ensues to this day.

Louis Taylor spent 42 years in custody for a crime he did not commit.  Accused as a 16 year old, he was convicted of the arson deaths of 28 people in a hotel fire in Tucson, Arizona in 1970.  Arson science was non-existent in 1970, but that did not stop the prosecution’s experts from testifying about the origin and cause of the fire.  One expert even claimed he knew the fire was probably started by a young black person.  Years later, as fire science developed, the basis for the prosecution fell apart and Louis won his long sought freedom.
