The James Kura Memorial Scholarship
OACDL will award THREE $1,000.00 scholarships to Ohio High School seniors based on an essay to the question provided. Seniors must submit an application (download from link below), a copy of their high school transcript, and a 2 page essay based on the question on the application. Application and essay must be postmarked by Friday, March 1, 2013.
The 2013 question is:
It is now generally accepted that the State of Texas executed an innocent man when they put Carlos DeLuna to death. In light of this, is he execution of an innocent person the cost of doing business when imposing the death penalty? Or is the execution of an innocent person a reason to do away with the death penalty?
