Legislative Advocacy Conference & Leadership Summit
On May 3 - 6, emergency physicians from around the country descended on Washington, DC for ACEP’s Legislative Advocacy Conference & Leadership Summit. The Ohio Chapter delegation met with legislators and key staffers on Capitol Hill, honed their advocacy skills, and got some great leadership training.
Check out Chapter President, Dr. Michael McCrea’s recap of the Conference and his challenge to beat Michigan in attendance for next year!
As part of the event, ACEP released a number of policy and legislative briefs to help physicians communicate with their elected officials about the important issues facing emergency medicine:
- ACEP Fact Sheet - Emergency Care in the United States
- Funding for Emergency Medicine & Trauma Issue Paper
- HCSNEA Co-Sponsors and SGR No Votes
- Medical Liability Reform for EMTALA Services Issue Paper
- Mental Health Issue Paper
- SGR Repeal Issue Paper
Thanks to all our dedicated members who traveled to DC to advocate on behalf of their fellow EM physicians!
