FACULTY (Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, PA Practice) Ohio University (Developing PA Program)

Ohio University is seeking applications for a faculty member for the developing Master of Physician Assistant Practice (MPAP) program at its new Dublin, Ohio campus near Columbus. Established in 1804, Ohio University is a doctoral/research extensive university and the oldest public institution of higher learning in the state of Ohio, with the main campus located in the scenic Appalachian foothills in Athens. As a comprehensive institution, Ohio offers a distinctive and high quality undergraduate and graduate education. The Department of Physician Assistant Practice is currently seeking provisional accreditation from the ARC-PA and is currently in the process of building a new, state of the art facility.

Responsibilities: Physician Assistant (PA) faculty engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities; coordinate and/or teach didactic courses; participate in clinical-related activities; participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum for PA Studies education and in the development and incorporation of instructional experiences within the curriculum designed to achieve and maintain compliance with ARC-PA Standards; advocates for the PA program through participation in service activities; serve on college-wide and school-specific faculty committees; and participate in professional development activities. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the program director.

Requirements: Applications from professionals may be considered as follows:

  • PAs with a minimum of a masters degree in a related discipline, current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in Ohio, and a minimum of three years of clinical experience.
  • Physicians with a current unrestricted license to practice as an allopathic or osteopathic physician in the State of Ohio, certification by an ABMS or AOA approved specialty board, and a minimum of three years of clinical experience. 
  • Non-clinician scientists with a doctoral degree in a health or social science-related field and a minimum of three years of teaching experience.

Candidates must have strong organizational and computer skills.
