Job Description.......... Manages and coordinates the didactic phase of the Physician Assistant program, as well as program admissions.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supports the Clinical Coordinator through the organization, coordination and evaluation of the student clinical instruction process and its activities
• Assists with regular clinical site visits and works to obtain new clinical affiliations as needed
• Manages and coordinates the didactic phase of the Physician Assist program
• Reviews data collected on formative, summative and national assessments and provides input for program needs, continued development, accreditation maintenance, and outcome assessment of the Physician Assistant program
• Manages and coordinates the Physician Assistant program admissions including assisting with the development and implementation of an effective recruitment program, organizing and tracking the applications, and coordinating the applicant interview days
• Acts as liaison with the Program Manager to provide counseling and guidance to matriculating students, plan orientation and other similar programs, serve as the primary contact for applicants, and assist in completing required institutional and program accreditation reports
• Performs didactic instruction (including web-based instruction) of various Physician Assistant program courses when necessary
• Responsible for development of an annual board review assisting in maintaining the utilization of a standardized patient program for the Physician Assistant program, advising students, maintaining office hours, and participating in course preparation and evaluations
• Maintains effective communication with applicants, students, graduates, faculty and instructors
• Serves as liaison between College and community health care agencies, professional organizations and other network entities vital to the Physician Assistant program
• Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
• Master’s Degree
• Certified as a Physician Assistant with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Physician Assistant
• Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
