Position................ GI Physician Assistant
JobDescription.......... We have an opportunity for a Physician Assistant, to work in the Dayton hospitals under the supervision of our 2 full time hospitalists. We are a busy Gastroenterology practice with 3 other Physician Assistants and 17 full or part time physicians. The position would be Monday through Friday with an option for weekends. Salary is negotiable.

Some of the responsibilities would include:
• Obtaining comprehensive patient histories
• Performing physical examination
• Identifying normal and abnormal finding on histories,physical examinations, and commonly performed initial laboratory studies
• Assessing patients
• Developing treatment plans for patients
• Implementing treatment plans that have been reviewed and approved by the supervising physician
• Monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
• Providing patient education
• Administering medication and intravenous fluids upon order of the supervising physician
• Carrying out or relaying the supervising physician’s orders for medication, to the extent permitted under laws pertaining to drugs
• Inserting and removing nasogastric tube
• Changing PEG tubes
• Arrange hospital admissions and discharges at the direction of the supervising Physician
• Perform hospital rounds and record appropriate patient progress notes; accurately and appropriately transcribe and execute specific order at the direction of the supervising physician
• Compile detailed narrative and case summaries
• Complete forms pertinent to patients medical records
• Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine patient management and treatment
