HB284 Passed by the House

Substitute HB284 was passed by the House today 89-3.  It will now be referred to the Senate Health Committee.

SB276, the companion bill to HB284, heard sponsor testimony today from Senator Hite and Representative Gonzales (co-sponsor of HB284) who explained the differences between the two bills.

HB284 will be the vehicle in the Senate and SB276 will be abandoned.  The reason for hearing sponsor testimony on SB276 today was to begin the committee education process on the PA bill.

Proponent testimony on HB284 will take place on Wednesday, December 5 at 2:30 PM.  OAPA plans on having a PA, physician and PA Program Director testify.

When asked, we hope that Ohio PAs will contact their Senators to encourage them to support Substitute HB284.
