JONATHON McGEE
Executive Director
Jonathon McGee brings extensive experience in the legislative arena to the position of OCTA Executive Director. As Majority Chief of Staff of the Ohio House of Representatives in 2004, McGee helped develop and manage the Ohio House Speaker's legislative agenda, including setting state budget priorities, managing the staff and budget of the House and working to build consensus on a variety of legislative issues. From 2001 to 2004, he served as Majority Chief Legal Counsel for the House. Previously, McGee held positions with the Office of the Governor as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel for Governor George Voinovich, and with the State Employment Relations Board of Ohio, the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation and the Industrial Commission of Ohio. In the private sector, McGee served as CEO of ProHealth ComCare and Director of Harrington Benefit Services' Workers' Compensation Division.
McGee joined the OCTA from the law firm of Lee Smith & Associates. Earlier in his career, he was an associate with the firm of Day, Ketterer, Raley, Wright & Rybolt. McGee is a graduate with Honors of the Ohio State University College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts with high distinction in Political Science from Ohio Northern University. He is a founding volunteer of the Vineyard Community Center Legal Clinic and a past board member of the Columbus Jazz Arts Group.
