Sharon Doughten is currently an Associate Professor at Cuyahoga Community College (CCC) in Cleveland. She graduated from the Kent State University graduate program and completed the internship at IUPUI in Indianapolis. Her initial experiences were in foodservice management and MNT. From there she moved to public health as the Manager of Nutrition Services for the Cuyahoga County WIC program for 15 years. She was recognized for her part in statewide awards for nutrition education and breastfeeding and gained the IBCLC certification. Her publications include topics related to breastfeeding, WIC and nutrient dense snacking. During her 10 years at CCC she has been active with the CDA board, involved with various Service learning and grant community education initiatives including the Hispanic Youth summit, Bridgeport, curriculum governance, general education outcomes, and numerous student learning outcomes led activities. Current college-related activities include Manager of City Fresh Tri-C Metro Fresh stop, General Education Outcome’s faculty liaison and co-chair of the Faculty Senate Safety and Environment committee.
