Fire Chief

Tiffin Fire & Rescue Division

This individual would be responsible for the overall management and direction of the Fire/Rescue Division, including fiscal management, personnel matters, fire prevention and initial emergency response to reported fires and serious emergency incidents.

Qualifications:

1. Shall be a citizen of the United States, able to read, write, and speak the English language and have not less than ten (10) years of actual firefighting experience in a full-time firefighting position with progressively higher levels of management experience consisting of at least five years as a Fire Chief or five years in an administrative or upper management level firefighter position comparable to the positions of deputy chief or captain in the Fire/Rescue Division.

2. Graduate of an accredited college or university with an associate degree in fire science, bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or other related field.

3. Must possess Fire Officer II certification or present certification of formal training that demonstrates significant experience in firefighting fire prevention, supervision, and decision-making, management, and leadership skills.

4. At the time of application must be employed as a fire chief or firefighter in an administrative position or upper management level firefighter position.

Salary range: Starting $63,130.70 to $69,437.89 after 3 years.
