Fire Chief

Sugarcreek Township Fire Department

 

Ability to create and maintain a positive environment for the employees and a favorable reputation for the Department with the public and other departments will be paramount to the success of the new Chief. The outgoing Chief is retiring in the first quarter of 2016 after more than 28 years with the Department and almost 40 years of fire service. Affecting favorable change in the ways of doing business must happen with an authoritative hand while engaging and empowering the employees for further growth in their career path.

Position requirements include education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited school and significant, increasingly responsible local government fire suppression/prevention and EMS experience, including at least nine years of management level, (i.e. chief, asst. chief, division chief, etc.) experience gained in a department of comparable size and complexity or greater. Must be a skilled leader and an outcome focused manager with excellent interpersonal skills, a strong customer service orientation and have unimpeachable integrity. Must have or be willing and able to quickly obtain Ohio Firefighter II and Paramedic certifications in good standing.
