Spence David Harvey Spence, 76, died December 15, 2014. A longtime resident Winchester Place, he was preceded in death by his parents Charles Harvey and Clara M. (Stir) Spence. Was a U.S. Army Veteran. David suffered from age nine with severe epilepsy caused by measles. As a teenager he drove his motor scooter to his grandparent's farm each day to work, enlisted in the Army, lived and worked in Florida for a short time. He loved to play cards, word books and many types of crafts. He made many nice leather and ceramic items while he worked in these shops at the Chillicothe Veterans hospital, gifting his mother with lovely lighted ceramic items, leather belts and billfolds. Age and decades of medications along with other maladies took their toll on his body but he remained sweet, caring of others and thankful for any comfort he received. David is now at peace with Our Lord after long suffering but well deserved loved life. Visitation will be held Thursday 12Noon-2 p.m. at THE DWAYNE R. SPENCE Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH. Graveside funeral service to follow at Carroll Cemetery, Carroll, Ohio with Pastor Frank Priddy officiating.
