Obituary for Marguerite Hall

Grandmother of Stephanie Nesbitt, Thompson-Smith-Nesbitt Funeral Home

Marguerite Hall, 91, of Conneaut passed away peacefully Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 9, 1924 in Universal, Indiana, the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Jane (Knowles) Davies and had been a Conneaut resident since 1943. Marge graduated from South High School in Youngstown in 1942. After high school she worked for Western Union as an automatic operator before moving to Conneaut.

Her family then moved to Conneaut from Youngstown with the Astatic Corporation where she began her working career as an office clerk and worked there until her retirement in 1989. Marguerite married the love of her life Ernest Hall in E. Springfield, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1948.

Marge was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed going to garage sales with her neighbor, walking around town, sitting on her porch, reading, watching old westerns, the Cleveland Indians, and making the holiday meals for the family. Our grandma was one of a kind, she loved her home, her pets and her family, and will truly be missed.

She is survived by her son Ernest (Sheila) Hall of Conneaut; grandchildren, Christina (Billy McFadden), Stephanie (Eric) Nesbitt, Stacy Hall, and Ernie Hall all of Conneaut and Samantha (Ron) Richards of Jefferson; great-grandchildren, Carlos, Preston, Gavin, Zadyn, Makayla, Madison, and Caleb and one more on the way.

Grandma was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Hall in 1970; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Gary English; brothers, John “Jack” and Harold Briscoe; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson-Smith- Nesbitt Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Pastor Tim Kraus Officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Glenwood Cemetery in Conneaut.
