Shirley Irene Stocker

Wife of Clifford Stocker

Shirley Irene Stocker, age 80, beloved wife of Clifford Stocker, died January 15, 2016 in Bradenton, FL, surrounded by her loving family.  Shirley was the daughter of Earl & Marie (Johnson) Crile and born in Lodi, Ohio on September 25, 1935; and was raised in Covington. Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Eleanor Hughes and Ruth Terry; nephews, Steven Lee and Bill Hughes; and grandson, Justin Beemer.  Shirley is survived by Clifford her husband of 60 years; daughter, Kim Kirker (John) of Guntersville, Alabama; son, Michael Shon Stocker (Sheila) of Three Forks, Montana; daughter, Carmen Girouard Blumenstock (Kirk) of Charlotte NC; grandchildren, Lindsay Walter (Matt), Calvin Stocker, Clifton Stocker, Colton Parker, Jordanne Kirker, Robert "Gunnar"Girouard and Gracie Girouard; two sisters-in-law, Jean Pugh and Janice Stocker; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Shirley graduated from Covington High School, Class of 1953 and attended two years of college; was co-owner and secretary for Stocker Funeral Home for 44 years; she partnered with Joyce Magee in "Something New" a Specialty women's store in Greenville; she had worked with Border City Savings and Loan and was Secretary of Chamber of Commerce in Covington orchestrating many holiday parades and floats; member of the Covington Presbyterian Church; member of the Covington Eagles Ladies Auxiliary; member of the Covington Avocation Club; former member of the Miami County Mental Health Advisory Board; former member of DECCA Advisory Board of Greenville High School; she was also a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Gettysburg.  During her years at the Sea Breeze Estates in Bradenton, FL, she developed her passion for painting with her art teacher, Natalie.  Funeral service 10:30 Saturday at the Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Kurtz officiating.  Interment Gettysburg Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.  The family would like to thank Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton, FL for her care.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
