Tom Miller

Father of Matt Miller

Thomas J. "Tom" Miller, 64, of Dresden, passed away on Monday October 6, 2014 after a tragic accident while working in Dresden.

Tom was born in Zanesville, Ohio on November 24, 1949 to Robert G. and Mona R. (Wagner) Miller.

He had worked at AEP Conesville Plant, retiring after 38 years of service.  He is a past Jefferson Township Trustee and was currently employed by Jefferson Township.  After his retirement from AEP, Tom started his own handyman service called "WUZGONNA", his slogan was "I'll fix the things around your house you WUZGONNA fix."  His quality work and craftsmanship was well known throughout Muskingum and Coshocton Counties.

Tom was also proudly working part time alongside his son at The Miller Funeral Home in Coshocton. 

He proudly served as a Navy Seabee in Vietnam.

Tom was a member of Dresden United Methodist Church, lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, Coshocton American Legion, Coshocton Army Navy, Coshocton Elks Lodge and V.F.W..

Tom was deeply dedicated to his wife, his children and grandchildren, his family always came first.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years Sally A. (Mattingly) Miller; three children Jenny (Craig) Mehaffey of Dresden, Ginger Miller of Zanesville and Matt (Valerie) Miller of Coshocton; mother Mona R. Miller of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren Courtney Bice of Coshocton, Katlyn Bice of Dresden, Andrew, Madison and Grace Miller all of Coshocton; brothers Dennis (Marsha) Miller of Zanesville, Daryl Miller of Frazeysburg and Bob (Debbie) Miller of Frazeysburg; sisters in law Suzi Barton of Naples, FL, Cindy (Jerry) Balderson of Kauai, HI and Missy Vanderkam of Kerrville, TX; brother in law Alan Mattingly of Ft. Myers, FL; several nieces and nephews. 

Tom is preceded in death by his father Robert G. Miller; father and mother in law Alfred "AL" and Mildred "Poots" Mattingly; a brother in law John E. Mattingly KIA in Vietnam.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, (which Tom spent a year of his life in 2010 helping his son build), 639 Main St., Coshocton on Thursday October 9, 2014 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. 

Interment will follow in Dresden Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.

A time of fellowship with Tom's family will be held at the Coshocton Army Navy following the graveside committal services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project and/or the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
