George Caso - 1977

George Caso was born in Cleveland and graduated from West Technical High School. He earned a bachelor's and master's degrees from Kent State University and served in the Navy during World War II. He began his teaching career in 1952 at Avon High School, where he started the baseball program and taught Industrial Arts, Biology and Geography. He also taught Industrial Arts at Mayer Junior High School. For many years, he also was Fairview's Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball coach and was an assistant football coach for track and football. He lived in Cleveland until he built his home in North Olmsted in 1956. George Caso taught for 43 years. He and his wife, Anita had a son, Scott and daughter, Sandra. Coach Caso was inducted into the OHSBCA in 1977. He passed away on Dec. 22, 1996.
