Senate Joint Resolution 6 (Senator Bob Gibbs, R-Lakeville)
This is the Senate version of a resolution to create the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board through a ballot measure to be placed on the November 2009 ballot. The 13-member state board would determine and enforce guidelines for the care and well-being of livestock and poultry in Ohio in order to protect food safety and provide locally produced food for Ohioans.

Senate Bill 131 (Senator Karen Gillmor, R-Tiffin)
S.B. 131 will establish an Ohio BioPreferred Purchasing Program, which would require state entities, including public colleges and universities, to give purchasing preference to biobased products if the biobased product is comparable in price, performance and availability. The bill adopts product standards and approved product lists established by the Federal BioPreferred Purchasing Program.
