To support scientific research and educational opportunities to the benefit of the soybean industry.
Statement of Purpose
We believe that the application of science and technology to the soybean industry is the key to the future prosperity and sustainability of our industry. We
are committed to offering programs that will actively engage
the next generation in agricultural careers.
Background
For many years the Ohio Soybean Council and the soybean checkoff have supported scientific research and educational programs that promote the long-term health of the Ohio Soybean Industry. The Ohio Soybean Council Foundation was established in 2007 to extend these efforts through special initiatives and endowments that advance the application of science and technology to agriculture, today and tomorrow. We believe in supporting agricultural education so that people understand it's importance and the career oppurtunities availible in the agricultural industry.
The Ohio Soybean Council Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a public charity. Contributions to the Ohio Soybean Council Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Programs
Our programs strengthen the Ohio soybean industry and the Ohio economy. We seek partnerships with companies and individuals who share are vision for advancing the Ohio soybean industry and ensuring a successful future for Ohio soybean producers.
Our programs include:
- Scholarships
The Ohio Soybean Council Foundation provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students at Ohio colleges and universities who are pursuing majors and careers that combine science and technology with agriculture. The foundation also supports students pursuing degrees which develop a trained workforce to sustain agriculture in the future.
- Workforce Development for the Bioproducts Industry
The emerging bioproducts industry holds tremendous potential for Ohio agricultural producers, but this potential will be realized only if we are able to develop and retain the future technicians, scientists and researchers who will work in this new industry.
