International Marketing

For many years, Ohio soybean producers have enjoyed the benefits of increased export opportunities for soybeans. Soybeans are Ohio's #1 export year after year, and in 2009 more than half of the U.S. soybean crop was exported to buyers in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
The Ohio Soybean Council has been committed to international marketing since its inception, through its own initiatives, and through partnerships with organizations such as the U.S. Soybean Export Council, the U.S. Meat Export Federation, the U.S.A. Poultry and Egg Export Council, the Ohio Department of Development and the World Initiative for Soy in Human Health.
The long-term outlook is for continued growth in foreign demand for soybeans. The Ohio Soybean Council and the soybean checkoff will continue to be at the forefront of efforts to increase soybean exports. With an expected increase in competition from foreign growers, international marketing efforts will have more impact than ever on Ohio soybean producers' bottom line.
