Geriatrics Position

West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine

The West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) is seeking a physician to join our Geriatrics program. This position can be a full-time or part-time position with tenure or non-tenure track. The position requires completion of a residency and Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, as well as completion of fellowship training or a certification of added qualification in Geriatrics. Ideally the successful candidate will have clinical and teaching experience. The candidate must also be able to be licensed in the State of West Virginia.

Primary responsibilities include providing pre and post doctoral education and training to WVSOM students, interns, and residents and administering the Geriatric Fellowship. Academic duties include lecturing, assisting in skills labs and coordinating the geriatrics curriculum for years 1-4. It is expected that the successful candidate will spend time providing clinical care including nursing home care. Hospital practice is available if desired. Research is supported and encouraged but not required.

Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. WVSOM offers an excellent benefits package including medical malpractice insurance, educational loan reimbursement, and relocation expenses.
