AOA Releases Student Data For Class of 2015

The AOA membership department reports that 28 colleges of osteopathic medicine in 34 locations have reported their incoming student class data, which aggregated together shows a total of 5,771 students are in the Class of 2015.  

This is a 20.7% increase over the 2012 matriculating class total of 4,783 students.  The increase includes two new schools – the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) branch campus in Spartanburg, S.C., which reported its first class totals 161 students, and the William Carey University COM in Hattiesburg, Miss., with 110 students.  Eighty-two percent of osteopathic schools reported enrollment growth this year.
