Contingent Pharmacy Technician
Worthington Industries Medical Center Pharmacy
Summary: The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately assisting pharmacists in preparing prescription orders and medications, providing excellent customer service, maintaining the supplies required for operation, and maintaining the cleanliness in the pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
· Accurate documentation and processing
· Assist in processing orders for medications and medical supplies
· Correspond with patients regarding medical issues
· Enter prescriptions in computer system
· Order medications and over the counter items
· Answer phones
· Clean the pharmacy
· Check for outdates
· Complete cash register deposits
Skills and Experience:
· Customer service oriented
· Advanced communication and math skills
· Excellent prioritizing and multitasking
· Knowledge of MS office
· Ability to operate the cash register
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
· Basic knowledge of current Ohio and Federal pharmacy regulations
Education/Training:
· HIPPA compliance
· Becoming a qualified technician in accordance with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
· Basic Life Safety Training such as CPR and AED
· High school education
· 0-2 years of pharmacy experience
This is a contract position. Flexible hours and days are requested.
