You will learn about new privacy regulations, changes in the NCPDP computer billing standards, and how your pharmacy computer operation will be impacted. Earn CE and observe several computer systems and software programs, and talk directly with knowledgeable sales persons

Practical Guidelines for Evaluating
Computer Systems

Bill G. Felkey is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Care Systems at Auburn University School of Pharmacy. Bill has a Master of Science in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University. His research interests focus on creation of knowledge-bases and the use of advanced technology. Bill is also the founding editor of Computer Medicine for the Hospital Pharmacist.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
• list features to look for in choosing a computer system;
• compare different computer systems;
• exhibit knowledge of the HIPAA and NCPDP guidelines and the necessary changes to meet these guidelines; and
• list important compatibility features with future technology.
