Changes to POS Enrollment Process

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) continue to work to make the Point-of-Sale Facilitated Enrollment (POS FE) process for dual eligible and other low-income subsidy (LIS) eligible individuals as easy and reliable as possible for pharmacists.

Recent changes CMS would like to bring to your attention include:

  1. Steps to minimize reversal claims to pharmacies
  2. Changes to the exceptions process for 2007 claims which are rejected because they are submitted more than 30 days after the POS date of service

The following link is to a $$Link
Pharmacy Tip Sheet
0$$ that details the above information and also includes a printable form for a “Pharmacy Fax Request to the CMS Regional Office For Point-of-Sale Facilitated Enrollment Claims Over 30 Days Old”.
