September 2013 OPA Extern Profile: Kahle Rummer
Name: Kahle Rummer
Pharmacy School: University of Findlay
Undergraduate degree/institution: N/A (0-6 degree)
Rotation Month at OPA: September 2013
How did you get interested in the profession of pharmacy?
I always had an interest in science and math and I wanted a career in healthcare that didn’t involve 10+ years of education. Pharmacy became that hybrid model of patient care and applied science that fit best.
Why did you choose OPA as a rotation site?
I chose OPA for the opportunities to network, speak with legislators, explore career options, and become more familiar with the issues pharmacists need to be aware of.
What was the most significant or surprising experience at OPA?
The most significant experience at OPA was the networking opportunities that presented to me and the contacts that I established for my future career. Meeting with legislators, special interest groups, and independent owners was an experience I could not get on any other rotation.
What other pharmacy associations/organizations do you belong to?
Training and competing in half marathons and triathalons, watching movies with friends, and being with my girlfriend.
