OPTA Awarded 2012 Outstanding Component Award
The OPTA Board and Staff are pleased to report that the Ohio Chapter has been awarded the 2012 Outstanding Component Award by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
The APTA Outstanding Component Award is given to the component that has demonstrated exemplary operations which exceed expectations, meet the needs of members and promote the physical therapy profession. Winners were selected based on demonstrated outstanding and innovative activities accomplished during the period of January 2011 through February 2012.
Applications consisted of a standard paper application and an all-encompassing package/portfolio prepared by the component which contained examples of membership recruitment/retention initiatives, successful legislative efforts, community service/outreach programs, measurable successes in the communications and public relations theater, operational best practices, professional development offerings and financial management strategies.
The OPTA prepared an impressive compilation of the chapter’s efforts and successes and has been recognized accordingly. The chapter will be recognized during the Component Leadership Meeting in Tampa on June 3. Following brief remarks about the chapter, the award will presented to our president, Anthony DiFilippo, PT, DPT, MEd, OCS, CSCS.
We are grateful for the tireless efforts of our chapter volunteers and staff and are proud to continue our legacy as an award-winning organization. We humbly thank the APTA for this recognition.
