OSCA Sets Date For '08 Legislative Day

Tuesday -- November 18, 2008

The OSCA has scheduled its 2008 Legislative Day for Tuesday, November 18, in downtown Columbus.

"With more than 30 new legislators coming to Columbus and with a very light legislative schedule this Spring, we made the decision to move the event to after the election. This way, our members will begin to get to know newly elected members of the General Assembly before they even take office," explained OSCA Executive Director Woody Woodward.

During each of the past two years, the OSCA has held two of the largest legislative days in our history with over 100 DCs in attendance at each. Last year our members specifically discussed three issues with legislators-acupuncture legislation, Medicare reinstatement, and insurance contracting reform legislation (HB 125.) Each of these three issues has passed the legislature and has been signed by the Governor.

Further, while one day in Columbus can make some impact, the real success of a legislative program happens day after day in legislative districts as individual chiropractors build relationships with their elected officials. DCs who would like to know the names of candidates in their area should call the OSCA at (800) 837-6721.

Please watch OSCA publications for more information on our 2008 Legislative Day.
