RSA Graduate Student Chapter Award - Call for Applications

Call for Applications
RSA Graduate Student Chapter Award
Deadline May 1, 2014

This year RSA will, for the first time, recognize the activities of its student chapters with the RSA Graduate Student Chapter Award. The award will be given at the RSA 2014 Convention in San Antonio, TX, and it will be accompanied by a prize of $250. Beginning this May, the RSA Graduate Student Chapter Award will be given every two years at the biennial conference in an effort to recognize the most active, creative, and interdisciplinary student chapter.

The RSA Graduate Student Award seeks to:

  • Engage and applaud the activities of both new and growing chapters as well as established chapters.
  • Recognize student chapters that bridge disciplines and connect graduate students across departments.
  • Promote innovative student chapter activities that may be successfully imitated at other institutions.
  • Encourage creative activities that expand the influence of RSA and attract graduate students from multiple disciplines.

Student chapters that wish to be considered for the RSA Graduate Student Chapter Award should submit the following materials, which may be collected over a period of the previous two years:

  • A table of membership including faculty advisor(s) and graduate student members with their year and departmental affiliation(s).
  • An annotated list of student chapter events. This list may include business meetings, guest speaker events, social events, panel planning meetings, participation in the RSA webinar, etc. Annotations may include descriptions of events, attendance, budget information, and other relevant information.
  • Any materials that substantiate events such as flyers, brochures, websites, recordings, and so on.
  • A 500-word maximum rationale highlighting the student chapter's achievements.
