2015 Institute

Michael Bernard-Donals, Director

6th Biennial RSA Summer Institute
University of Wisconsin
Madison, WI
June 1 - 7, 2015

Welcome! With seven seminars and twenty-three workshops, the 2015 Summer Institute at Madison is preparing for the widest array of sessions and activities since the first Institute was held in 2005. Beginning with seminars over the first five days, followed by weekend workshops, sessions will span the range of the field, from cutting-edge theoretical, methodological, and pedagogical inquiries, to historical interventions, technological innovations, professional strategies, and interdisciplinary trends.

A record number of participants have been selectively chosen – over 200 in the seminars and over 425 in the workshops – from among hundreds of scholars nationwide and abroad, ensuring this Institute will be as inclusive as it is engaging. Session leaders are busy shaping their courses to maximize opportunities for intellectual exchange.

Beyond workshops and seminars, the week will feature a variety of events, including a plenary luncheon on Friday June 5 with keynote speakers Bill Keith and Roxanne Mountford, special-interest activities, and social gatherings planned for evenings. Attendees will find plenty more to explore in Madison as summer brings beautiful weather and lively entertainment. Choices of lodging are available at various inns and hotels as well as campus residence halls, where we’ve reserved rooms at discount and block rates. Register early to get the best prices.

Look around the Institute webpage for information about the institute, including a schedule of events and information about Madison.  If you have questions about the program, please contact Michael Bernard-Donals (michael.bernarddonals@wisc.edu).

We look forward to seeing you in Madison this June!
