CPR Training Day
From: The Marshall Democrat News - Salt Fork, MO
The Saline County Health Department Board of Trustees approved the donation of $200 to a countywide CPR/AED training day at its Tuesday, April 23, meeting.
Russ Donnell, emergency management director, brought the event to the board's attention.
Donnell said the event is to help make Saline County a heart safe community.
The training day will hopefully take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Salt Fork YMCA.
It will be hands-only CPR, according to Donnell.
"They've discovered that some people will not do CPR because of the mouth-to-mouth component," Donnell said, noting the objective of the training is to help people feel comfortable administering CPR.
There will be no charge to the public to participate in the mass training. A station teaching abdominal thrusts will also be present.
