Dignity Health to offer CPR classes

Dignity Health of the Central Coast will host American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR Classes through the end of the year. All classes are open to the public and will be offered at the following locations:
- Monday, Aug. 12: 5 to 8:30 p.m., Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Annex.
- Monday, Oct. 14: 5 to 9:30 p.m., French Hospital Medical Center Auditorium.
- Wednesday, Dec. 4: 5 to 8:30 p.m., Marian Regional Medical Center in Education Room D.
The Heartsaver class trains community members to use the AHA’s Chain of Survival, which includes adult, child and infant CPR, and to use an automated external defibrillator, also known as AED. Participants will also learn what to do for choking in adults, children and infants.
A community American Heart Association CPR Card will be issued to each participant upon completion of the course.
Classes are limited to 24 participants at Marian hospital; 12 participants at Arroyo Grande hospital; and 16 at French hospital.
