Ten AEDs Donated to BAPS
Broken Arrow Public Schools received 10 donated Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) from the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association. The Board of Education accepted the AED’s at their Jan. 30, 2012, board meeting. The donation of the AED’s was made possible by a $20,000 private donation to the Tulsa Chapter.
Every year approximately 300,000 people die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest, which is about one person every two minutes. The survival rate is only five to seven percent. To improve survival rates, it is imperative to train as many people as possible in CPR/AED techniques and the Tulsa chapter organization is committed to just that. Their mission is to educate the public, donate AED’s to the community and provide support and information to Sudden Cardiac Arrest survivors and their family members.
