Zoll X Series defibrillator gets FDA’s OK

Medical device manufacturer Zoll Medical Corp. received the go ahead by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market and distribute its defibrillator designed for EMS services.
With the FDA’s 510 clearance the Chelmsford-based company can now sell the offer the device in the US, according to an announcement made by Zoll today.
The X Series Monitor/Defibrillator is half the size and weight of other full-featured devices in the market but is more ruggedized and powerful, according to the company. It features defibrillation, pacing and CPR assistance. The screen allows users to view up to four different waveform traces simultaneously and includes split-screen 12-lead views.
