Maryland General Assembly passes Connor's Law

From: CapitalGazette.com

The General Assembly has passed Connor's Law, named in honor of a 5-year-old boy who drowned at the Crofton Country Club's pool in 2006.

Connor's Law took effect in Anne Arundel County last year. It requires all of the county's public and semipublic pools to have an automatic external defibrillator.

The Maryland Senate voted unanimously on Thursday to approve a bill, House Bill 364, introduced by Del. Tom Hucker, D-Montgomery, to expand the law statewide for pools owned by counties and municipalities. Currently, defibrillator programs are optional.
