Stephen JohnsonSave Date: 05/27/07 I am a lieutenant/paramedic and on May 27, 2007, as I was working out on the treadmil at the fire station, I developed chest discomfort. I took an asprin and walked out to the ambulance. We hooked me up to the monitor and the EKG showed I was having a heart attack. While en route to the hospital I went into cardiac arrest five times and had to be defibrilated each time. By the time I had arrived at the hospital I was awake and feeling pretty good. I was taken to the cath lab and had a stent put in. Today I am doing fine, thanks to the fireman I work with that saved my life. |
