"Pentecostalism, Theology, and Missiology in the 21st Century"
According to the Pew Research Center, the Pentecostal movement was one of the most influential developments in global Christianity in the 20th century and is poised to have an even greater influence in the 21st century. Why is Pentecostalism one of the fastest growing denominations? What can mainline denominations learn from their Pentecostal sisters and brothers?

Dr. Amos Yong is Professor of Theology and Mission and director of the Center for Missiological Research at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Yong will address the implications of global Pentecostalism for Christian theological method and the implications of Pentecostalism for Christian mission theology. His areas of expertise include global Pentecostalism and interfaith dialogue, and he is the author or editor of numerous articles and books, including Spirit of Love: A Trinitarian Theology of Grace, Pentecostalism and Prosperity: The Socioeconomics of the Global Charismatic Movement, and The Spirit Poured Out on All Flesh: Pentecostalism and the Possibility of Global Theology.

Following the presentations, gather in Koinonia with friends and colleagues for the annual Homecoming dinner and recognition of classes.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26: HOMECOMING

In addition to the presentations, Friday morning workshops offering a Lutheran reflection on Pentecostalism, insights into preaching, and the role of the leader, will be hosted by Trinity faculty Hank Langknecht and Cheryl Peterson, and President Rick Barger.

After the workshops, alumni will challenge students in flag football, followed by lunch.
