Two-day Program Addresses the 'Spiritual but Not Religious'

What does it mean to be “spiritual but not religious,” and how does the mainline church engage and reach out to individuals who self-identify as SBNR? The Rev. Dr. Linda Mercadante, professor of theology and author of Beliefs without Borders: Inside the Minds of the Spiritual but Not Religious, will address these questions in a two-day forum, February 9 and 10, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, 2199 E. Main Street, Columbus.

Mercadante teaches about theology and culture at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She has spoken widely on the topic at conferences and in congregations, and her book has received special attention from the national media. In addition to her presentations, two campus pastors affiliated with The Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati and the pastor of a Lutheran-Episcopal startup in Maryland, will provide workshops dedicated to the SBNR population.

Cost for the full program, including lunch on Monday, is $75. Register by January 23rd and receive an early bird discount of $60 for the full program. Learn more about the presenters and register online at www.TLSohio.edu.
