New Lay School of Theology courses offered at Chillicothe and Dayton Campus starting September 19

Beginning in February 2015 the Lay School expanded to include two campus--Chillicothe and Dayton. Pr. Steve Kimpel joined Pr. Merlyn Seitz as the directors of the ministry.

Lutheran Theology, history, Old and New Testament are offered at the Chillicothe campus while the Dayton Campus will focus on introductory courses.

The courses present an opportunity for students to enrich the fabric of their faith life; to gain more understanding of how God has been, and is still, at work in the lives of people of every age through his Word. Qualified instructors teach courses that are geared for both the person-in-the-pew and for people in the position of Lay Worship Leader.

The Prophets Then and Now is being offered at the Chillicothe Campus at Calvary Lutheran Church, Chillicothe. Instructor:The Rev. Steve Kimpel, director of the Dayton Lay School Campus.

Introduction to the New Testament is being offered at the Dayton Campus at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Kettering. Instructor: The Rev. Michael Kreutzer, Rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Dayton.

Detailed information of the place, class dates and times can be found on the flyers below. Nancy Hoffman is registrar for both courses. When sending your registration, please check to be sure you are sending the one for the course you want to attend.

We hope you will take advantage of one or both of these courses, as well as the courses coming up in 2016. For the Winter/Spring term, Dr. Don Huber will teach on Church history and Dr. Tom Breidenthal, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio, will teach a course on ethics.

Please share this information and these flyers with your congregation. Perhaps a group could travel and learn together and then share what they learn with others!

We are stronger and better together!
